Name: Burlew, Michael
I liked writing and was on the staff of the McArthur High Times newspaper. I also wrote short stories and had at least one published in the Pegasus Magazine. History was the best and most interesting aspect of school subject-wise with girls and cars always on the agenda as well. If I could do it all over again, I would have been more active in school activities and would have accepted that invitation to the Sadie Hawkins dance.
Who would you like to see again?
Kay Roper, Sharon Ford, Connie Wulf, Pat Earnst ('67), Steve Cox, Richard Fraser, Andrew Dolan, to name a few.
What did you dream of doing when you grew-up?
I sought adventure, joined the Marines, went to Vietnam, an exoctic destination (?), at the time.
Spouse or Partner Name: (Did they attend McArthur and what class year?)
Happily married to Christine.
Retired Air Force major, 22 years, first as an enlisted man in the Marines and then, after college at Penn State, as an officer in the Air Force. Served in Vietnam (68-69), Norway, Belgium and in several major commands in the continental U.S.
Running and exercising to keep in shape; travelling the globe when time permits; studying history; have just finished reading "Wuthering Heights", believe it or not, never read it before. So, life goes on. Cheers and good health to the Class of 1966.
